Savant's Blood Series Book 1: Shadow of the Avatar ReviewI picked this book randomly and was immediately hooked about 20-30 pages in. This is a long book. The main character Wren is a no non-sense, fast-thinking girl who is incredibly agile. She is very likable as a character with a strong will without being made out to be overly feminine or masculine. Will Greenway created a universe that is very different from your usual fantasy or pure science fiction novels. There is a mixture of mythology, magic, and science. I think it's refreshing. Towards the end of the book there is this big game with lots of chasing, fighting, and generally jolly good fun. I have also read the "Reality's Plaything" series by the same author. I think this (Savant's Blood) series is easier to get involved with early on. There are quite a bit of typos in all of them, but they don't detract from the books much. One does not read these books for their literary values. That is not the main point. If you like action-packed novels but cannot help but be repulsed by excessive violence and gore, or if you like to let your imagination run free, this is a fun series you might enjoy.Savant's Blood Series Book 1: Shadow of the Avatar OverviewHecate, goddess of the moon and dark magic, wants a new body and eight summer old savant Liandra Kergatha is it.
