Religion and Reality (The Perfect Knowledge Series) ReviewThere is so much spoken about conventional religion these days in terms of "culture wars" and the politics of the times. Yet who has actually entered into the religious process to the depth degree of actual participatory knowledge (gnosis) of the reality-truth of indivisible unity that religion (universally) points to?This book is subtitled: True Religion Is Not Belief in Any God-Idea but the Direct Experiential Realization of Reality Itself
The subtitle directly addresses a fundamental theme of this book, which is that belief is insufficient altogether for true religion. And as a parallel truth, doubt is insufficient as well, in terms of actually dealing the actual root-matters of truth itself. This is a radical vision and voice, a voice of beyond doubt and belief, a voice of reality, of indivisibile indestructible self-evident oneness, of prior unity, of sanity, of heart-awakened consciousness. Of the "binding again" that is the very meaning of the word "religion".
Avatar Adi Da Samraj stands out as a uniquely authoritative voice of wisdom-sanity by virtue of his own spiritual and transcendental divine realization of the very condition that is Reality Itself. There is no argument for belief, or for historical propositions of partial "truth", but rather a vast and complex arguement pointing beings to the necessarily experiential ordeal of truth-discovery that is the universal religious process. A process that Adi Da Samraj clearly reveals is an ego-transcending process, since the ego-act of separateness, of the dualistic enactment of "separate self" and "objective world" is the very act of "sin" which separates one from the Living Divine egoless Reality and Truth which is the Only of religion's all.
This is a magnificent, sane, bright, inspirational, and clear guide to every human being on the path of deepening religious practice, faith, understanding, and aspiration. A beacon and jewel, and a clarifying voice to a right and universally sane understanding of religion as a whole.
So the great tradition of religion and spirituality, full of propositions and ideas, practices and observances, and ancient depth is discussed at great depth. The matters of Western versus Eastern religion, of exoteric versus esoteric religion, of believe versus Realization, of the process of growing beyond superficial understanding into depth, all of this is deeply probed and sanely considered. And wisdom is the intrinsic communication here, the wisdom of the unitive depth-heart undertanding of religion itself, as a process, a universal process of Reality Realization.
In order to help clarify the difference between the various proposals about "God", Adi Da Samraj uses the term Real (Acausal) God as a means to help readers understand directly the egoless nature of Real God versus the ego-based ideas about "God" that can be used for ego based separative purpose, individually or in collective patterns. The Essay: Real (Acausal) God Is The Deep of the World is a beautiful explication on the sacred, profound, universal, egoless, indivisible, and unity-of-all-nature of Truth, Reality, and Real God.

Read this book.Religion and Reality (The Perfect Knowledge Series) Overview"Religion is 'cult' ".Adi Da Samraj once opened an essay with this provocative statement. By definition, He went on to explain, religion is asacralizedsystem of philosophical and practical observances within the domain of time and space. Because it necessarily consists of defined beliefs and rituals, dependent on the existence of the concrete world in which it appears, he points out the self-evident fact that no religion can ever, in and of itself, be equal to Truth or Reality. Reality Itself is always senior to the cults of humankind. So what is the right and true relationship between religion and Reality? "Religion and Reality" presents Adi Da's answer to that question. In some ways, to most deeply receive the communication in this book is to be loosed from centuries of misunderstanding and to find the freedom toconsiderthe real purpose of the world and the nature of Real God as Reality Itself. Who would not be interested in such a proposal?Adi Da Samraj: "True religion is not about the 'me' -person who participates in religion. Rather, true religion is about the Divine with Which any individual is re-associating, or re-uniting. True religion is, ultimately, about discovering Oneness with the Divine Self-Condition to be Always Already the Case." "The writings of Adi Da Samraj are the most doctrinally thorough, the most philosophically sophisticated, the most culturally challenging, and the most creatively original literature on radical nonduality currently available in the English language".Jeffrey J. Kripal, J. Newton Rayzor Professor of Religious Studies, Rice University;Author, Kali s Child: The Mystical and the Erotic in the Life and Teachings of Ramakrishna
