SNOWMAN TPB (August 1999) ReviewI waited 10 years to get this book. I was fan of the Snowman comics when I was a kid, and hearing about a trade paperback of most of the issues I hadn't read was more than inticing, so when this came up for sale I snatched it up. Unfortunatly, time has not been kind to Snowman.The Snowman is such a great idea, and the monster is awesome and fully realized. The problem is everything else. The rest of the art is awkward and the story and dialoge are 11th grade quality at best, opting for boob shots and swearing over good storytelling. Prehaps I should have know from looking at the cover, but silly me.
In the end, this is really more like a rough draft in terms of quality. Matt Martin recently revived the Snowman comics and hopefully his storytelling abilities and art have matured.
This is a great book for thinking about what it could have been, instead of what it is.SNOWMAN TPB (August 1999) Overview
