Deeksha: The Fire from Heaven ReviewIf some who hear about this phenomenon are cynical, I think that is perfectly reasonable. Having heard about deeksha I had been skeptical for almost a year, before deciding to investigate (primarily to debunk it). At that time I was a long term seeker of enlightenment, who having sat with several non-dual teachers and read many books, had decided that the seeking was the problem, (or rather, the supposed separate one who did the seeking ie "me"). However when I received deeksha in October 2005, it had an extraordinary effect. In late February 2006 the deeksha energy seemed to cause a remarkable peak state of oneness. A very short time later I was on a plane. I have spent over a month in India where this phenomenon comes from. With me were many people from several different countries and religions, all coming together in oneness. Make no mistake, this phenomenon is now global, and is changing people's lives in an immense way. My experience of the past 12 months tells me that every word written in this book is 100% accurate. Living Deliberately: The Discovery and Development of Avatar ReviewI was actually introduced to 'Living Deliberately' which I read way back in the early 90's, as part of my new journey to design & craft the second part of my life.
At that point in time, I found it to be somewhat esoteric.
In a nut shell, there are actually three important parts in the book:
- the first part deals with the author's personal awakening & transformation;
- the second part outlines the working philosophy behind the proprietary & expensive AVATAR training, which the author has created based on his personal awakening & transformation;
- the final part covers belief system, experiencing reality & creating thoughtforms; to be more precise, about how our beliefs create our thoughts, in turn, how our thoughts create our experiences (& how we can discreate them at will); these aspects form the philosophical foundation of the AVATAR training;
Frankly, I didn't quite enjoy reading the book in the beginning, although it introduced me to the 'working mechanism' behind belief engineering. I was hooked & went on to read & explore other works, especially Bruce Doyle's 'Before You Think Another Thought'. To me, the author of this book did a much better job in explaining the many aspects of belief engineering. Many thanks to you, Bruce!
For readers who are still interested in reading 'Living Deliberately', I would suggest a companion book to go along, i.e. 'Resurfacing: Techniques for Exploring Consciousness' (also by Harry Palmer), which has a series of 30 practical exercises. These specially tailored exercises will give readers the 'world experience' of being in control, rather than absorbing more 'word experience.' It is definitely worth exploring! [Let me explain: 'Word experience' refers to the initial & reflective responses you have when you are just reading a book; 'world experience' refers to the assimilating responses you have when you put all or some of the ideas you have learned from the book to work in your own life!]
Alternatively, readers can access the Star Edge (the people behind the AVATAR training) website to explore more e-material at no cost.
My final advice to readers: Approach all AVATAR related books & other resources with an open mind. Don't reject their ideas prejudicially. Play, explore & experiment with them!

The Avatar Path: The Way We Came ReviewWhen I first started reading this book, I had a dream where I was in a big old house, where workmen were putting big holes in the roof, and new light was pouring in (!). Later, I decided, "I don't need to live in this old house anymore."
I found that this book affected me very much in my thinking, and my sense of clarity about a lot of things. And, I am an Avatar Master who's been delivering the course for almost 7 years. But I think that Harry Palmer is coming from a very non-indoctrinated space. And, he is equally non-indoctrinated about his own prior teachings! He speaks from the heart, with a certain brilliance, a clarity.
I also find that, if you are wanting to see ways in which the Avatar path differs from other practices and teachings, this also does a really beautiful job of doing that. The words are light and powerful. This is a very awake person, speaking to the awake part in you. There's no spiritual fluff stuff here--it's direct, intelligent, and workable. (The fact that it also addresses the underpinnings of how all of reality is created--well--that's the dual nature of Avatar, I guess! Practical and mystical at the same time.)
I firmly believe that if you were to take your life's issues and problems through this book, you would find new insights and realizations, that would awaken new options and alternatives.
The way Harry writes, it's not a "how to, step by step" self-help style. It gets you to look at what you're looking at. It gets you to see how you're BEING, and start to gain insights into why you're going that way. And, how you could go another way, if you wanted to.
But along with being an extremely useful tool on its own, I feel like this book is a great entre into what the Avatar Course is about--it's an experiential, hands-on course, written by the same author, Harrry Palmer. And I think that reading this book would help you a lot in sorting out why you might want to take that course; and indeed, what some of the fundamental differences are, between things we learn through books, and things we learn through DOING. Learning through doing is powerful.
I'm still kind of amazed at how many new perspectives there are in this book, and how much it seems to have the power to affect me, even after using the Avatar tools for seven years.
I'm gushing, but I feel I have a right to be.
