Warren Ellis' Bad World ReviewBad World came as something of a surprise to me. I was expecting a more traditional story; What Writer Warren Ellis delivers is an extended essay/monologue about various and sundry disturbed and disturbing individuals Ellis has (Supposedly) found through the internet. The reader is bombarded with literally dozens of bizarre stories, each more outlandish and horrific than the last, including, but not limited to, Alien Abduction, Cannibalism, Necrophilia, Beastiality, weird Presidential candidates, etc. The art, by Jacen Burrows, is ok; nothing exceptional, but the single-page illustrations and double-page spreads do a decent job of conveying Ellis' ideas. Are the stories you'll encounter in Bad World true? Who knows. In the end, does it really matter?
