The Easiest Way to Learn Na'vi--EVER: Volume 1 of 8 ReviewWhat a great way to learn Na'vi FAST! And have fun at the same time. And fun is the operative word in learning Na'vi the EASY way.Let me explain. As a former English and foreign language teacher, I have a background in linguistics and second-language acquisition. A basic concept in acquiring another language is that your state of mind when you are learning it affects the ease and speed with which you pick it up. The operative term in this concept is the "affective filter." The affective filter is akin to a sentry in your brain who snaps to attention and tries to block access to the language-aquisition portion of your brain when you're learning a second language. The interesting thing is that your state of mind controls the behavior of this barrier. The more relaxed you are, the more fun you're having, the more interesting the learning situation is, etc., the more easily you will acquire the new language. In other words, fun translates into lowering your affective filter and allowing your brain to latch onto the new material.
There are other concepts about learning a foreign language that I won't go into here, but White's approach is like the perfect example of the best way in all areas to enlarge you bilingual abilities. From the beautiful, colorful book cover, to the witty, humorous commentary, to the instructions on how to use the workbook, to the variety of intriguing puzzles, etc., White has covered all the bases in making these exercises delightful, easy, and effective. His suggestions on how to use the flash cards and his advice to work through the book three times are both right on target for allowing you to pick up Na'vi FAST.
Add all that to the give-away deal you get with this book, and WOW! That alone will put you in such a positive frame of mind that your affective filter will be high tailing it out of town every time you pick up this book. And you will soon be able to communicate with your fellow Na'vi fans as effortlessly as you use your native tongue. You can't beat a deal like that.
